Position Summary 

The Warner Robins Alion Science and Technology Office is looking for a Lead Planner/Schedule that can provide lead technical support in using engineering plans and production specifications to produce schedules, work control documents, material requirements lists, and production plans for the manufacture or repair of products.

 Duties and Responsibilities  

 Develops master operations from work specifications, technical data and statements of work (SOWs); conducts labor standard reviews (LSRs); establishes time standards; conducts time studies to validate or adjust time standards; designs comprehensive work control documents (WCDs) and configures them for complex, inter-related maintenance and modification tasks.

 Performs mass coding of master operations in legacy database systems.

 Reviews and analyzes technical requirements for new workloads, including task level work requirements, necessary tooling and equipment, and hangar and facilities requirements.

 Estimates man hour requirements and participates in the preparation, editing and presentation of final work proposals.

 Reviews AFTO forms 103 to determine incoming programmed depot maintenance (PDM) and unscheduled depot level maintenance (UDLM) aircraft repair requirements; researches and analyzes aircraft histories; coordinates repair requirements with master schedulers and owning organizations; loads and prints appropriate aircraft overhaul work packages.

 Communicates daily with engineers, supervisors, managers and technicians to solve difficult aircraft production problems. Implements engineering instructions by translating them into task-level WCDs for use by production personnel.

 Develops detailed schedules, material requirements lists and production plans for products and/or production processes where the manufacturing process is variable.

 Drives consistent communications between and coordinates Engineering, Production Control, Purchasing and other applicable departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules.

 Works with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages.

 May prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on the Master Production Schedule.

May evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tool, and manpower requirements.

Creates appropriate documentation to plan material deliveries and monitor the supply chain.

 Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.

 Creates reports for distribution to program office, customer visits and management.

 Informs management of any issues which may keep operations from meeting the Master Production Schedule.

 Provides leadership to less experienced Planner/Schedulers.

 Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.

 Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Education and Experience 

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience. Eight years production planning experience, including a working knowledge of manufacturing activities, purchasing, materials, production processes and engineering.

 Must have 8+ years of USAF Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) strategic and operational planning office experience. That experience must include working knowledge and operation of PDMSS G097, development of PDM work packages, USAF Technical Orders and work specification development. Must be proficient in using G097 PDMSS, researching, analyzing, creating, editing and reviewing labor operations. Must be familiar with other legacy systems including G004L, JOPMS, ROCIT, MWR, G081, AIRCAT, ETOL, JEDMICS, Automated 202, CTOR, IMIS, REMIS, COGNOS, DMAPS, CONCERTO, CCM, FOM, and IETMS and D043A.

 Must have 10+ years USAF aircraft maintenance experience. Depot level maintenance experience is desired.

 In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Excellent knowledge of manufacturing activities, including purchasing, materials, production processes and engineering.

Strong understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships.

Knowledge of project material management.

Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as SharePoint.

Excellent understanding of MRP systems.

      Must be able to communicate effectively.

      A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
