Job Description

The Program Management Analyst works under the direct supervision of the Software Engineering Division Lead and will be responsible for receiving, tracking and documenting project updates for software engineering projects and will be responsible for coordinating all software requests for the Software Engineering Department.       

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently manage and track the approval of all software requests from initial request to final approval.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of software engineering project deliverables and milestones.
  • Provide project management support to multiple project leads and a high volume of concurrent projects.
  • Provides performance and trending analysis relative to timeliness for Software Engineering efforts, and records/publishes lessons learned.
  • Ensures risks and delays are captured and reported appropriately to reporting to Sr. management/government.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with Project and Division Leads, and provides project management functions to ensure stakeholders are informed and issues are routed to the Software Engineering Lead.
  • Contributes to the development of deliverables related to Project tasks. Some technical writing may be required, with the assistance of subject matter experts.
  • Assists other Project leads by coordinating regular/tiger team meetings and keeping detailed minutes.
  • Implements strategies for deploying and implementing new program planning policy initiatives and measures the effectiveness of implementation.
  • Creates queries and produces custom reports from databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assists with adHoc tasks as needed.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 2-4 years of directly related experience in a government contracting environment. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for additional work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.   

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • The candidate must be a self-starter, recognizing when issues fall under their purview and acting on them without having to be told.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology highly desirable.
  • Skill with interfacing with government leads and sr. management              
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability and flexibility to multi-task as priorities change and situations arise
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and collaboration tools such as SharePoint or JIRA/Confluence
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
