Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Position Summary:

The candidate will conduct program development and project execution in accordance with customer requirements maintaining control of requirements, schedule and cost.  The candidate will be responsible for managing the engineering team and ensuring adherence with standard engineering principle’s for the design, development, modification, integration and test of prototype and production aircraft systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Aircraft Integration Teams.

Analyze integration and operational needs to develop plans that meet customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements.

Design and fabricate test boxes and cable assemblies for aircraft and non-aircraft systems.

Supervise the procurement of materials for prototype aircraft system installations.

Networking and identifying new business opportunities with existing and new customers.

Conduct New Equipment Training or Fleet Training, as required by the customer.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related technical discipline plus 5 years of experience in a technical position.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 9 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Technical project management experience.

Experience managing a staff preferred.

Experience working on military prototype and production aircraft is required.

Experience with DTIC contracts is not required, but beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Experience working in the NAVAIR arena, and particularly the AMISM community is highly desirable.

Familiarity with SAE AS50881E Aerospace Vehicle Wiring Standard

Familiarity with NAVAIR 01-01A-505-1 Aircraft Electric and Electronic Wiring Installation and Repair Practices.

US Citizenship and an active Secret clearance is required.
