Job Description

Position Summary

USINDOPACOM’s rapid warfighting capabilities mission requires a Program Manager (PM) with proven ability to lead the development of innovative solutions and emerging technologies to address Command Priorities and all Lines of Operation. Requirements range across major geographic locations requiring coordination of technology and/or production across multiple domestic and/or worldwide locations. USINDOPACOM is responsible for the oversight and management of over 75% of the earth from polar region to polar region and eastern Asia and the Pacific Islands. The customer desires new, innovative, advanced technologies and applications that will require advanced principles, theories, and concepts across program requirements.  The PM will lead a team that will contribute immediately to the development of new principles, concepts and systems to solve complex, highly innovative, and ingenious problems for USINDOPACOM warfighters.

The PM is responsible for leading a team developing advanced programs for large subsystems, small total systems, production, and logistics programs for major warfighter systems.  The PM will oversee the development and manage unprecedented program plans and delivery methods across derivative and distinctive products for USINDOPACOM. The team supports multiple customers including US military and federal agencies and allied nations to include Korea, Japan, and Thailand.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance on assigned program from inception through completion.  Manages technical and administrative staff and provides ongoing direction in the performance of the assigned program.

The PM is responsible for a large portfolio that touches a cross section of the command. At any given time, there are over 50 active projects requested by nearly 20 USINDOPACOM subordinate or partner organizations. These innovation efforts meet the needs of the warfighter through a rapid, cost effective, non-traditional and realistic approach to solutions. Efforts are operationally focused, realistic, statistically defensible, whole solutions involving technology, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) and training. Projects may also include interaction or cooperation with Indo-Pacific Theater allies.

USINDOPACOM priorities are heavily contingent on activity primarily driven by war, terrorism, natural disasters and/or threat situations and can change depending on the nature of the situation. As global dynamics shift and U.S. priorities within the USINDOPACOM AOR shift, the PM must have the ability to work within a flexible environment and adapt to changing circumstances rapidly.
