Responsibilities/Qualification

Position constitutes a critical and vital role in the NAVSEA Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Fleet Introduction and Sustainment Program Office (PMS 505).  Position responsible to the PMS 505 Deputy Primary Assistant Program Manager (Logistics) for planning, programming, budgeting, procurement, inventory management, storage, reconstitution, etc., of LCS major end Battle Spares, e.g. spare Gas Turbine Engines, Main Propulsion Diesel Engines, Waterjets, Radars, etc.  Battle Spares are essential to maintaining LCS combat readiness via the replacement of major end items in the event of a catastrophic failure.

Develop and track status of Battle Spare requirements, procurements, receipts, issues, returns, repairs, storage, etc.
Maintain technical specification data on Battle Spare equipment (make, model, series, part number, stock number, APL, TM, DWG, etc.)

Develop directives and guidance on Battle Spare management.

Coordinate with outside activities to include NAVSUP-WSS, DLA, OEMs, LCS Planning Yard, RMCs, SEA 05, etc.

Maintain Battle Spare MS Excel spreadsheets with all Battle Spare program data.

Develop and support Battle Spare Programing and Budget requirements.

Ensure proper Battle Spare storage, marking, shipping, preservation, maintenance, repair, inventory management, etc.

Ensure proper Battle Spare change out equipment and tools are available.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years experience.  In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 12 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by 
market survey data.

Experience in Navy HM&E and Combat ship systems, material management and control, inventory management, budgeting, technical specifications, etc. 

MS Office proficient; MS Excel skills required. 

U.S. citizen with SECRET security clearance.  Available for travel. 

U.S Navy Senior Enlisted / Junior Officer experience preferred but not a requirement.  Minimum five years U.S Navy surface ship or submarine service.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Strong customer service orientation.

Effective organization skills.
