Job Description

Position Summary

Maintains records and control of property owned by company, vendors, contractors, and government agencies. Conducts inventories; arranges disposal of obsolete or no-longer-required. Administers property control program activities to ensure continual accountability of company, government, or associate contractor, property and assets in accordance with applicable corporate policy or government regulations. Maintains property accountability records and determines condition and arranges disposal of surplus or obsolete material or equipment. Contacts potential users and negotiates transfers. Conducts property audits, develops, recommends, and implements property administration policies. Provides guidance on company policy and government regulations pertaining to property accountability. Prepares periodic and special purpose reports relative to such matters as taxes, rentals and leasing, insurance, facility usage, etc. Maintains auditable records of government-owned property located at the facility and associated vendor/subcontractor facilities. Works with Contract Administrators and Program Managers to insure that excess government property is identified as quickly as possible after contract completion. Coordinates the training of employees on the Government Property Control System procedures and related FAR requirements. Prepares draft procedure changes to implement FAR/DFARS requirements or locally directed management changes. Performs self-assessment audits of compliance to published procedures and FAR/DFARS requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and cultivate the process, systems, procedures, records, and methodologies necessary for effective control of Government property
  • Account for all government property including clothing and office equipment furnished to the vendor on the task order
  • Maintain hand receipt accounts
  • Ensure that controls are effectively in place to prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active TS clearance
  • Proficiency in MS Offfice Applications, to include Word and Excel
  • Experience using property management databases, CostPoint knowledge preferred
  • Forklift certified, recertification is available on-site
  • Cargo management experience, proper loading and securing of cargo for truck transport, both loose and palletized
  • Logistics management experience, working with shipping and handling vendors to move materials and coordinate shipment
