Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

Establishes Quality Processes in support of Quality Management System and manages the activities of the Alion facility staff to ensure ALION's compliance with both government regulations and ALION quality policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities  

 Ensures Alion’s facilities are in compliance with ISO 9001:2015

Coordinates and schedules work assignments of staff to provide the most cost-effective means of implementing compliance initiatives.

Develops methods and protocols to ensure that appropriate quality assays and/or tests are being conducted.

Works with quality and manufacturing to create and/or modify methods and procedures to ensure that appropriate processes and/or products are developed, tests are conducted and that products, materials, and manufacturing equipment meet required standards. 

Participates on new product and process design, development and implementation teams.

Performs statistical analysis to analyze trends, and works with manufacturing to investigate trends, conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for processes and products.

Ensures the development and utilization of equipment calibration and preventative maintenance systems.

Reviews all research reports, audits, and inspections; provides regulatory opinions and keeps up to date on current regulations.

Acts as liaison with senior staff, sponsors, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Develops and ensures implementation of laboratory and quality assurance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

Ensures that management is aware of the state of ALION's regulatory compliance; may conduct training sessions when needed.

Ensures that ALION's archives are in compliance with GLP regulations.

Stays abreast of new developments in government requirements and recommends changes to management in policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

May be required to prepare reports, briefings, studies, or other information to senior management.

Selects, trains, develops, mentors and supervises staff.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 8 years of directly related experience including supervisory/management experience.

In rare circumstances, education and/or experience requirements may be decreased or waived if the individual has an extraordinary educational background or uniquely applicable experience or highly specialized knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Strong analytical abilities; detail oriented.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
