Alion Science and Technology Corporation is seeking a Remote Sensing Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to a major DoD Agency located in Albuquerque, NM at Kirtland AFB for operational test events. Some travel (

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in remote sensing for characterization of counter-WMD and improvised threat-related test events.
  • Provide expert advice on LIDAR, hyperspectral imaging, and other electro-optical characterization tools and techniques for evaluating dispersal and post-dispersal viability of chemical, biological, and radiological species.
  • Address change characterization techniques, such as coherent change detection and interferometry from electro-optical or synthetic aperture RADAR systems.
  • Provide expert advice on ground, aircraft, and satellite-based systems.
  • Provide review of technical activities including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop test plans and methodologies to meet measurement objectives to support customer testing and provide post-test assessments to determine diagnostics and system performance, and how well diagnostics met test objectives.  

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, geophysics, or related physical science fields of study and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a test and evaluation (T&E) environment is desired.
  • A High School degree and at least 7 years’ related experience is acceptable as an alternative.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering.
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures for product testing, reviews and evaluates test results, and recommends testbed changes to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in sensing Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and/or High Explosives test events.
  • Must hold US citizenship.  Must have active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.  Active TS with SCI or SCI eligibility preferred.
