Job Description

Position Summary
As a Subject Matter Expert in a field, analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a complex military, governmental or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.  Utilizes complex modeling and simulation and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other creative research methodology.

Duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. Works with the client (either internal or external) to understand, define and document the overarching business object. Applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. Frequently present the findings and recommendations to the client. Perform extensive primary and secondary research to build a detailed understanding of the target market, industry, company or opportunity. Analyze and synthesize research findings to develop valuable insights and strategic recommendations for our client. Responsible for providing quality assurance/peer review leadership on the report production process, including tracking and maintaining team adherence to deliverable deadlines via check lists and consistent interface with team members. Updates, maintains, and trains staff members on the task tracking application. Participates in strategic sessions with the Senior Program Director and team staff to brainstorm new ways to present data, or modify current data presentations, with a primary focus on visual enhancements (maps, charts, graphs, etc. Research methods for creating a survey.  Communicates with clients to understand and document the business objectives. Formulates, analysis plans and acquires client sign-off. Designs or assists in the development of questionnaires and moderator guides to ensure the necessary data is captured.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Business or related field plus 8 or more years of related operations research experience. 
Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
