Job Summary:

The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration and communication of the company’s benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement and other benefit plans.  The role supports employees and is responsible for vendor and benefits data management, benefit plan administration, responding to employee inquiries and questions, advising managers and employees and identifying problems and solutions to ensure positive experiences. This position reports to the Benefits Director.
The right candidate is detail-oriented, has a very high level of accuracy and timeliness, proactive, enjoy solving problems and figuring out the best way to do things, is passionate about supporting employees and connecting them with the resources and information, delivering a best in class employee experience.

Responsibilities:

Administers the company's health, welfare, retirement, leave and educational benefit programs 

Manages self-insured plan funding, premium payment, reporting and reconciliation

Leads relationship with third party vendors ensuring timely and accurate data interfaces, elections and benefit deductions

Leads the annual retirement plan audits

Partners in benefit plan communication and delivery

Serves as an expert in the PeopleSoft benefit module, coordinating with PeopleSoft HCMS/IT Team

Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws

Conducts ad hoc analysis and reporting

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (CEBS and/or CBP Certification preferred)

Minimum five years of related experience, preferably with self-insured health plans

Experience with PeopleSoft benefits module administration and adhoc PS reporting

Demonstrates a working knowledge of applicable benefit laws and regulations 

Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Detail-oriented with a solid understanding of Excel and analytics

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Some travel may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Requires in-depth and practical knowledge of a wide variety of benefit techniques, theory, practice, methods, programs and plans including regulatory requirements, health and welfare insurance plans, retirement/pension funding and similar benefit subjects.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
