Position Summary:

The Senior Compensation and Data Analyst will perform complex analytical tasks and administrative duties to ensure compliance with company compensation policies and practices. Duties include activities such as reviewing salary adjustment recommendations, counsel with managers regarding application of compensation programs, supporting the annual compensation review, creating new job classifications and evaluating FLSA exemption and requirements. Performs benchmarking and analytics for all human capital functions to assess performance compared to industry.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages salary survey participation to ensure that Alion’s compensation is competitive.

Reviews requests for new job classifications, creates job descriptions and maintains the eJobs database.

Evaluates job matching approach, matches internal jobs to survey jobs, determines market value and assigns pay grade.

Evaluates and maintains job and pay structure in the human capital information system (HCIS).

Provides analysis for the annual compensation review and off-cycle requests for salary adjustments and promotions.

Provides labor category mapping in support of proposal efforts.

Works with business intelligence team to automate reports and metrics for all human capital functions; runs HCIS reports as needed.

Performs benchmarking and assesses performance compared to industry.

Performs complex data analysis and provides recommendations for process improvement and issue resolution.

Manages the service award process to ensure employees are properly recognized for their years of service with the company.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field plus 5 - 7 years of experience in human capital management.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for equivalent, applicable work experience. 

Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Proficient in MS Office; advanced skills in Excel.

Experience in Compensation preferred.

Experience with statistics and analytic tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo) preferred.
