Responsibilities/Qualification

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport's System Acceptance and Operational Readiness Department operates and maintains a fleet of autonomous undersea test vehicles and Undersea Warfare (USW) weapons. Test vehicles are used to host developmental systems and/or test threat torpedo defense systems. The Mobile Test Vehicle (MTV) is an open architecture torpedo capable of hosting and testing developmental sensors and payloads.  The MTV fields developmental and classified sensors, sonars, recorders, timing standards, and tactical systems that are used for test and evaluation purposes. The assimilation and processing of data from the MTV and undersea range systems is classified up to the TS/SCI level and will reside and be processed on TS/SCI systems.

NUWC Div Keyport requires the Senior Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems Engineer to perform these tasks: 

•    Engineering, research and analysis support services for existing and new developmental and rapid prototype sensors and MTV platform integration.

•    Provide MTV engineering studies and analysis of other USW weapon platforms both foreign and domestic and identify associated preventative/remedial maintenance and sustainment requirements.

•    Appropriately cleared personnel (TS/SCI) shall provide engineering technical services in support of information management, scenario depictions, tactical data analysis, data cataloging, sensor signal analysis, and data analysis/insight of both the MTV's internal data and data collected by other platforms during deployed operations.

Relevant Experience:

1.   Must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 5 to 7 years relevant work experience.  Master’s degree preferred.  Degree(s) must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years of applicable work experience.  Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

2.   Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated management experience and familiarity in providing technical services and analytic expertise in SCVSAP  USW management for DoD, DoN and/or NUWC, Keyport.

3.    Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated engineering experience undersea vehicle hardware

and software systems.

4.   Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience with the integration and analysis of payload material in undersea vehicles.

5.   Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI access required for employment.

6.    Demonstrated familiarity in working with the MTV common controller in designing and developing hardware and software solutions.

7.   Ability to effectively present technical information to reviewers in oral and written formats.

8.   Demonstrated command of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in area of expertise.

9.   Advanced knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.

10.  Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

11.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
