Job Description

Summary:
Alion Science and Technology’s Advanced Cyber Operations division is looking for highly qualified Senior Network Administrator candidates to work as part of a diverse team of cyber and intelligence professionals providing 24/7 intelligence operations, systems engineering and innovation, and sustainment of Information Technology systems in support of Component Commanders providing relevant products to the war fighter.  The Senior Network Administrator will lead a team of administrators to support the customer’s networks in order to provide accurate, time sensitive data while innovating, coordinating, and enabling network resources to enable proficiency, cost savings, and improve reliability.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing network support, address availability issues, overcome performance problems and provide overall support. Design, install, maintain and coordinate the use of network systems.  Evaluate hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.  Manage network performance, diagnose performance problems and configuration activities to ensure network performance meets requirements.  Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Report on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution. Train users, maintain, create and delete user accounts. Maintain and update system security plans on all platforms. Implement and coordinate network policies, procedures and standards. Enforce network security procedures.
•    Lead a team of highly skilled administrators to provide reliable network resources, improve operations, increase capabilities and achieve all program objectives
•    Ensure goals of customer satisfaction and team member performance are tracked and met
•    Ensure networks are secure, comply with all local and DoD policies.
•    Provide notifications to the customer as necessary of any issues affecting network reliability, confidentiality, or integrity

Qualifications:
Education
 
•    M.S in a related technical field and less than 2 years of experience OR
•    B.S. in a related technical field and 2 years of experience
•    In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience
 

Certifications:
•    Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP)
•    DoD 8570 IASAE lvl II (Security + CE)
•    VMWare Certified Professional 6 (NV, DCV, DTM)
•    Linux +
•    In some cases, certification requirements may be adjusted for combination of certifications and applicable work experience. 
 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in network administration 
 

Must hold a current TS/SCI clearance.
