Contract: Contract will provide CND and NetOps support to the Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC), Suffolk, VA.Program Overview: NCDOC provides Computer Network Operations services to the Navy Enterprise in support of IW/Cyber support to Fleet Cyber Command/Commander TENTH Fleet and its subordinate elements.Duties/Responsibilities: Contractor will administer physical and virtual Unix/Linux servers running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES11), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5), and Solaris 10 with zones. Contractor will administer all aspects of NetApp storage arrays and Brocade fiber channel switches. Contractor will administer Symantec Netbackup Enterprise Backup.

Specific duties include:

  • Provide SME level support for Unix/Linux system administration on systems running SLES11, RHEL5 & 6 and Solaris 10 with zones.
  • Provide SME level support for NetApp storage arrays.
  • Maintain systems patches.
  • Maintain systems security posture, complete STIG checklists, remediate IAVAs and CVEs.
  • Improve system administration productivity by authoring relevant shell scripts.
  • Review current shell scripts for improvement and additional capability.
  • Provide timely reports on projects status and other systems administration work, as required.
  • Time Expectations/Work Schedule: M-F 07:00 - 15:30

Core Skills/Competencies:

  • Experience using a security vulnerability scanner (i.e. Retina, ACAS)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in shell scripting or Perl.
  • ACAS security suite experience.
  • Experience with administration of Storage Area Networks (SAN) to include fiber channel switch administration.
  • Ability to work in team setting, as well as independently.
  • Self-starter: identify issues and create action plan for resolution.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and ability to concurrently manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Years of experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience as a Unix/Linux System Administrator on systems running SLES11, RHEL5 & 6 and Solaris 10 in an enterprise level environment.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an enterprise storage administrator.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an enterprise data backup administrator.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with VMware administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux systems security including proficiency with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M (CSWF) IAT II
