Responsibilities/Qualification

The Social Media Specialist will create dynamic content for social platforms, expand engagement, and contribute to the overall Talent Acquisition social media strategy. The specialist will play an active role in daily social media listening, tracking and reporting on analytics. The ideal candidate will contribute creatively to ongoing projects and campaigns, and propose experiments with new tools and platforms for Alion to communicate with the public.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute a community management strategy across CareerBuilder, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn etc.
  • Strong understanding of digital analytics and the ability to translate data into actionable insights; demonstrated experience using analytics tools to communicate outcomes and ROI.
  • Support social media for the Talent Acquisition organization.
  • Lead campaign launches by using timelines, posting calendar, deliverables, metrics and analysis.
  • Work with third parties to create and run paid ads across social platforms.
  • Implement brand specific-critical follower strategies and influencer outreach.
  • Integrate, develop and execute paid, campaigns across social and web platforms.
  • Monitor and report relevant trending topics and changes to social media platforms.
  • Deep understanding of social media strategies across the talent acquisition spectrum. 
  • Manage all social media client deliverables and communicate with Talent Acquisition end users throughout the setup process.
  • Deep knowledge of social media channels and management reporting tools (Facebook/ Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Etc.).
  • Act as a liaison between Alion TA and 3rd party content providers.
  • Social profile optimization, including proper branding, consistent business details, optimizing content for specific keywords and marketing goals.
  • Analyze social media campaigns and make recommendations for changes.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline and 2-5 years of relevant experience supporting integrated digital marketing campaigns (social media, web, and email) on behalf of a brand or product

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for equivalent work experience.  Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by
market survey data.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good understanding of social media platforms, social media best practices, and a desire to research and explore new offerings.
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices helpful.
  • Working knowledge of social media paid advertising campaigns.
  • Experience with social media page/profile creation and customization.
  • Experience with social media scheduling and management tools (e.g. HootSuite, SOCi, or other) helpful.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior client management experience.
  • Business-to-business experience with Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google and YouTube.
  • Ability to establish and meet tight deadlines and change directions when necessary.
  • Ability to write/edit engaging social media content.
