  • We are looking to hire software developers doing state of the art C++ and Java in Alion’s Annapolis Junction, MD facility. All levels sought.  DOD Airborne ISR Image and Signal Processing.  Geolocation, data registration, image processing, analysis and display.  This is a great career opportunity.  You will be working alongside some of the best software and embedded systems developers in the area.   Come join the fastest, brightest staff, work on some of the most challenging problems in a dynamic team environment.
  • This is a technical position working on a team of 6-12 in development and implementation, integration, test and documentation of various software routines for signal and image processing and machine learning in C++, Java and Java Script.   Positon will also likely have Graphic User Interface (GUI) tasking so HTML5 or ability to learn it quickly is preferred
  • Candidate will take direction from Lead and Sr Engineers and successfully translate that to successful performance.   Candidate will work within a software development lab that will house the entire team and will work in and out of secure environments.  Candidate will ensure work is operating to CMMI level 3 accreditation and properly documenting and managing work flow. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Defines specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and/or oversees the maintenance of existing programs to ensure continued performance and compliance with current guidelines and standards.
  • Performs all necessary aspects of the programming phase of software development including coding, testing, debugging and documenting using current guidelines and standards.
  • Defines architecture requirements and performance standards to meet customer specifications.
  • Participates in the analysis and development of test plans.  Tests assigned components and units, provides test results and recommends corrections.
  • Identifies and directs resolution of moderately complex hardware/software interface issues or other technical problems.
  • Researches and develops prospective applications and products and maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Authors or assists in the writing and/or presentation of briefings (reports on analyses, findings, and project progress), project or task plans, system specification manuals, technical reports and user manuals.
  • Participates in the preparation of technical proposals.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline,
  • Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience preferred, 3+ required
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 9 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology.
  • Technical Experience:  C++ and Java experience required, JavaScript preferred, HTML 5 preferred
  • Signal and Image Processing and Machine Learning preferred
  • Math, Physics, and geodesy preferred
  • Personal Experience:  Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills. 
  • US Citizen and an Active Secret clearance  or higher required
