  MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), an Alion company, is currently looking for a Software Engineering to support a Research and Development contract which provides our Air Force customer with design, development, and test innovations.

We are looking for a software engineer to supplement our current development team for a project that provides customer support in the area of RF testing and data analysis.  The candidate, as part of a project team, will develop software solutions to enhance test capabilities in the areas of: graphical user interface (GUI), automation, and control. Test infrastructure includes signal generation equipment (standard laboratory and special purpose). The candidate will work with the test team to refine systems-level performance requirements and decompose these requirements into software requirements for design and development.

Your work location will be at MacAulay Brown in Dayton Ohio. The typical work week will be Mon-Fri 8AM to 5PM. There will be some travel required to support testing and integration at Wright Patterson AFB.
  • Software development using languages such as C/C++
  • GUI development
  • Analysis/modification of existing software
  • Interfacing with customers, program management and technical staff
  • Problem resolution and improvement recommendations

Experience in the following languages/areas in order of importance:

  • Qt   
    • GUI design
    • Multithreaded application code using Signal/Slot mechanism
    • TCP/IP socket programming using Signal/Slot mechanism
  • Xilinx SDK   
    • C/C++ code for embedded processors
  • MATLAB   
    • Application programming
    • MATLAB to C++ conversion
    • Integration with existing software

Desired Experience:

  • Hardware in the loop experience
  • RF/Radar/EW background
  • RF collection systems or sensor systems
  • Experience working with schematics and data sheets
  • Comfortable troubleshooting code
  • Digital signal processing experience pertaining to microwave Receivers and EW sensors Experience in laboratory testing and analysis of systems.
  • Ability to program and operate Laboratory test equipment, such as use of Signal Generators, O-scopes, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Synthesizers, Logic Analyzers, etc.


  • BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years¿ experience Self-starter requiring minimal supervision and ability to work in small teams
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required for this position
