Software Engineer – Wright Patterson AFB

Position Summary:
Come to work for AFRL’s Continuous Learning and Performance Assessment Branch, which has five teams that are executing research driven toward proficiency-based training. The branch is working to develop a new model of training by executing research that

  • Enables proficiency-based training across a range of military operations.
  • Enhances readiness and tactics, techniques and procedures to optimize Airman Performance.
  • Sustains superior Airman Performance across multiple domains.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure content meets customer requirements, is appropriate and has not been compromised.
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and recommends improvements as available.
  • Provide leadership to lower level Web Software Design/Developers.

Required Education and Experience

  • U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline 
  • 8+  years’ experience developing and maintaining software using C++  modern (11, 14, 17)
  • Experience with Boost, OpenCV, Eigen, OpenGL, DirectX, Cuda, OpenCL
  • Experience with Networking Protocols (e.g. UDP, TCP, WebSockets)
  • Strong Understanding of Linear Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry and DIS Simulation Protocol
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. 

Desired Experience

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Data Mining, Microsoft SQL, and OpenGL
