Come explore Alion, a company that develops state of the art modeling and simulation software to support the warfighter!  The Navy Training Baseline (NTB) Continuous Integration and Test Environment (NCITE) Engineer is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of a Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) system to automate the software development workflow and tests. NCITE DevOps Engineer provides CI/CD workflows that follow industry best practices, automated testing frameworks, report generation, and tool development and maintenance for all the enterprise NTB applications in development.

Position Summary:
Come to work for AFRL’s 711th Human Performance Wing, which has teams executing state of the art research in multiple domains. This effort’s objective is to:

  • Research and develop software for new tactics, techniques, and procedures to take warfighter readiness to a higher level, across a range of military operations.
  • Sustain superior warfighter performance against current and future threats.

Job Duties:

  • Interact with military and government customers to define requirements.
  • Design, develop, test, and integrate software for state of the art simulation platforms.
  • Ensure content meets customer requirements, is appropriate and has not been compromised.
  • Prepare technical documentation..
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant emerging technologies and recommend improvements to current applications.
  • Provide leadership to lower level software engineers.
  • Some travel to CONUS locations is required 


  • 5-7 years’ experience developing and maintaining software using one or more current programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java)
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally
  • Ability to effectively interact with other people, including peers, superiors, and subordinates. 

Desired Experience – some of the following

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and development.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, NetBeans, Qt, andCMake.
  • Experience with Networking Protocols (e.g. UDP, TCP).
  • Experience with Boost, OpenCV, Eigen, OpenGL, DirectX,Cuda.
  • Experience using version control software such as Git.
  • Strong Understanding of Linear Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry
  • Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) simulation experience.
  • Ability to create custom and complex GUI components for use in Java and C#.
  • Ability to interpret and implement solutions from technical documentation (e.g. Flight Manuals, Interface Control Documents).
