Position Summary:
Come to work for AFRL’s 711th Human Performance Wing, which has teams executing state of the art research in multiple domains. This effort’s objective is to:
- Research and develop software for new tactics, techniques, and procedures to take warfighter readiness to a higher level, across a range of military operations.
- Sustain superior warfighter performance against current and future threats.

Job Duties:
- Interact with military and government customers to define requirements.
- Design, develop, test, and integrate software for state of the art simulation platforms.
- Ensure content meets customer requirements, is appropriate and has not been compromised.
- Prepare technical documentation..
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant emerging technologies and recommend improvements to current applications.
- Provide leadership to lower level software engineers.
- Some travel to CONUS locations is required
Required
- 5-7 years’ experience developing and maintaining software using one or more current programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java)
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally
- Ability to effectively interact with other people, including peers, superiors, and subordinates.
Desired Experience – some of the following
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and development.
- Experience with Visual Studio, NetBeans, Qt, andCMake.
- Experience with Networking Protocols (e.g. UDP, TCP).
- Experience with Boost, OpenCV, Eigen, OpenGL, DirectX,Cuda.
- Experience using version control software such as Git.
- Strong Understanding of Linear Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry
- Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) simulation experience.
- Ability to create custom and complex GUI components for use in Java and C#.
- Ability to interpret and implement solutions from technical documentation (e.g. Flight Manuals, Interface Control Documents).
