Responsibilities/Qualification

The candidate will be responsible for working alongside a government customer at Ft. Belvoir to develop a sharepoint site that will be the knowledge management site for isolating events across the Department of Defense.  This site will draw from multiple other repositories where the Department has tried to maintain this knowledge, and this site will be easily accessible to users who do not know sharepoint.  This site will provide metrics to the highest levels of Government to aid in resource decisions; therefore, the metrics derived from this site must be easily tabulated and understood.  The candidate's work will have a direct impact on how well the Department performs in the future - this is an important job.

Job Duties:

  • Work with users to design, develop and test complex knowledge capture processes and workflows, search capabilities and measurement approaches.
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain SharePoint-based applications and 3rd Party SharePoint related software for knowledge management applications.
  • Use available tools and/or web-based application development methodology to provide web-based solutions. 
  • Plans, schedules and conducts systems tests; monitors test results, and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Work with management, develop, administer and analyze reports on application usage and knowledge contributions.
  • Develop technical user guides and other technical documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Knowledge Management Analysts.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of web usage, administration, and project management.
  • Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of enterprise portals and intranets, especially Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services.
  • Hands on experience with current internet standards and web markup or scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP and ASPX.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server, Microsoft IIS environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • SECRET clearance is REQUIRED.  A higher clearance is not necessary but would be a benefit.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 5 to 7 years of directly related experience preferably in a government contracting environment or a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.

¿In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge of personnel recovery, SERE, or evasion planning is not required but would be great to have.
