Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Position Summary:

The Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Subject Matter Expert (SME) is member of the Navy Surface Warfare Center Corona (NSWC Corona) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Directorate in support of the Navy Training Baseline (NTB) and Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE). Performs analytical subject matter expertise on the operation and stimulation of shipboard intelligence work centers including SSES, SUPPLOT, and CVIC in a training environment.  Position requires a sufficient level of knowledge to be able to relay to software developers those capabilities of those systems and a sufficient knowledge of friendly forces capabilities to counter those assets.  The position will require support for Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) development and integration efforts, as well as modeling for Navy Training Baseline. The SIGINT SME will have awareness of Tactic, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and potential changes to current TTPs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The SIGINT SME, receiving prioritized requirements from the NSWC M&S Development Lead, will employ military domain expertise on the operation of current Navy Intelligence Work Center systems including capabilities and limitations.   The SME will possess knowledge to include Signals of Interest (SOIs), including tactics and behaviors. The position requires the ability to assess current capabilities and provide recommendations for the interoperability of Navy Training Baseline with other training systems.  The SIGINT SME will be required to communicate concepts between the professional warfighter and software developers, identifying the gaps in weapons systems and platforms as currently modeled in Joint-Semi Automated Forces (JSAF). 

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus 8 to 10 years of directly related experience is required.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- On-site support required.

- Recent US Navy Intelligence Work Centers operational experience is required.

- Military domain experience is required.

- Interface with customers and other SMEs on a daily basis.

- Microsoft Office proficient

- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment is required.

- Simulation/HLA and Modeling & Simulation experience a plus.

- JSAF operations experience a plus.

- Distributed Simulation/HLA experience a plus.

- Modeling & Simulation experience/development a plus.
 

Security:  Must possess a TS/SCI security clearance.
