Job Description



Alion is actively seeking a senior logistician/supply readiness analyst with an Active Secret Clearance to support the Program Executive Submarines program office PMS 450.  The VIRGINIA Class Program Office (PMS450) has the programmatic responsibilities for overseeing the acquisition and development of the design, planning, construction, life cycle support, and modernization of VIRGINIA Class Submarines. This position supports PMS 450F, the Assistant Program Manager (APM) for Product Support Management, Logistics, and Fleet Readiness at the Washington Navy Yard.

Purpose of Position/Major Duties:

This position reports to PMS 450F and shall perform the following duties:

  • Track the VIRGINIA Class provisioning effort, improve methods and timing for delivery of the Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) and associated products, track and monitor stowage design while maintaining a close linkage with the provisioning process output, and provide assistance in executing the Outfitting process and monitoring Outfitting efforts.

  • Execution of the VIRGINIA Class Supply Readiness program, including coordinating, reviewing and drafting responses for prime contractor deliverables.

  • Participate in and support Supply Readiness Process Integration Team (PIT) Meeting issues that include updating Allowance Equipage List (AEL) and Allowance Parts List (APL) requirements, refining and monitoring stowage estimates, accuracy of Stowage Detail Files and General Use Consumables List (GUCL) files.

  • Assist in monitoring accomplishment of Supply Readiness Milestone Management Plan events.

  • Provide Supply Readiness long range financial planning and budget support.  Assist in the development and maintenance of long-range financial planning tools, documents and schedules.

  • Support Supply Readiness Logistics inputs to the POM and Program Review processes, develop issue papers, prepare briefs, and other financial planning requirements.

  • Assist in developing and tracking future Supply Readiness financial requirements.

  • Provide assistance in establishing the VIRGINIA Class Item Unique Identification (IUID) Program.

  • Review Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) planning requirements and associated stowage planning data.

  • Coordinate with the TMMAs for Manual Change Requests (MCRs), Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Reports (TMDERs), and Advance Change Notices (ACNs).


Masters degree in related discipline plus 12 years of directly related experience.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 14 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Professional knowledge and experience with Navy Acquisition Programs

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Travel to Electric Boat and other stakeholder locations as required.
