Job Description


This position provides Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) and acquisition support to a NAVSEA-affiliated program office in the area of surface Navy weapons systems development and integration.


Works directly with senior technical personnel and project managers in the planning and execution of technical activities on projects related to system and technical product development.  Employs existing guidelines and instructions, guidance from higher-level engineers, experience, and independent judgment to plan and accomplish task objectives.

Applies advanced technical concepts, techniques, and procedures to support a project team in the development of technical systems. Identifies and documents project functional requirements.  Organizes a proposed project into the tasks and activities needed to solve the problems being addressed. Manages schedules to meet completion dates and technical specifications. Regularly provides technical guidance and oversight to lower level technical staff.  Prepares and reviews input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.  Support project financial planning and execution.

Prepares and provides formal briefings to the staff and project sponsors. Leads technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the project sponsor.

Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Bachelors degree in an engineering or related technical discipline and 5-7 years systems engineering & integration and/or Defense acquisition experience required.

Secret clearance required. Top Secret clearance eligibility desired.

Experience with systems engineering and DoD acquisition in support of surface and undersea systems or weapons required.

Knowledge of Navy surface weapons systems strongly desired.

Experience supporting a DoD acquisition program desired.

Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience desired.

Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
