Responsibilities/Qualification

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities will be to perform Information System Security Officer (ISSO) tasks related to obtaining and maintaining accreditation of a Local Area Network (LAN). Duties will include all tasks related to implementation and testing of security controls, continuous monitoring, maintaining documentation, and coordination with the cognizant security approving authorities to maintain system accreditation.  Leads the continuous operation of servers, network and related infrastructure supporting the information systems. Installs new software releases, patches, updates and manages the overall configuration to ensure it is up to date and the required security controls are properly implemented. Develops backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery plans.

The applicant will interact with the cognizant security authorities (CSA) to maintain system accreditation and perform continuous monitoring of the security posture of the information systems.  These actions will be performed and documented using the information assurance applications and databases required by the CSA.

Possess a basic understanding of networking and network switches and assist in the installation of network infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience. Degree(s) must be in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Must possess an active TOP SECRET or SCI clearance, or previously held an SCI clearance within the last two years, along with a current Single Scope Background Investigation being less than seven years old.  A polygraph examination will also be required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • background in one or more of the following: computer security, cybersecurity methodology, IT risk management tools, certification and accreditation through ICD-503.
  • experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2012, Domain Controllers, DNS Servers
  • experience in configuring and securing Windows domains utilizing Active Directory and Group Policy
  • experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2012
  • experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Thin Clients
  • may be required to obtain an information system security professional certification if not already possessing one
