Alion is seeking a Systems Engineer with solution architectural background to join our team of innovative, strategic and client focused personnel on the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE). This person will interface with the engineering team and client on a daily basis while driving the realization of the enterprise vision by supporting platform solutions across the enterprise. Applies advanced knowledge of configuration management and IT architecture principles to identify and evaluate alternative solutions. Focuses on complex strategy and direction of multiple and diverse application/data/network disciplines on a variety of multi-platform systems. Under limited supervision, develops, operates and maintains a variety of complex technology systems. Participates in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system. Works directly with senior technical personnel and project managers in the planning and execution of technical activities on complex projects related to system and technical product development.  Employs existing guidelines and instructions, guidance from higher-level engineers, experience, and independent judgment to plan and accomplish task objectives. Assignments may require the development of improvements to current techniques and procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and update reference documents such as System Engineering Plan (SEP) and System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
  • Design, develop and maintain the integration of engineering processes
  • Facilitate NCTE change requests
  • Facilitate the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, to include requirements management, design reviews and assessments of technology
  • Facilitate engineering boards
  • Design, develop and maintain tracking systems
  • Prepare and review input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.   May author or co-author technical reports
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Experienced with the systems engineering lifecycle phases

  • Experience with certification and accreditation principles and practices
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Experienced with database management and development
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight, always strives to do the best job possible

  • Able to effectively handle multiple concurrent priorities


Education and Experience
Master's degree in related discipline plus 10 or more years of directly related experience. Professional certification(s) may be required.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for an equivalent combination of work experience and education. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Highly desire experience with Configuration Management, Cyber Security Tools, and Control Board Management

Certifications

  • Security+ certification required

Clearance

  • DoD Secret Security Clearance Required
