Position Summary

Leads systems engineering work in analysis, design, development, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of the development of the Army's Synthetic Environment (SE) Core program. The SE Core program provides the common infrastructure definition and the SE artifacts necessary to enable simulations to participate in the Live, Virtual and Constructive Integrated Training Environment (LVC ITE).  Highly qualified candidates will have experience with SE Core and/or SE Core confederate programs, SE runtime formats, and geospatial application experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leads systems engineering activities in support of complex software engineering and visual database development.

Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses.

Performs requirements analysis and validation, technical planning and systems analysis, system integration, verification and validation, evaluations of alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for the total SE Core System of Systems and individual systems.  Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include:  concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of various systems.

Interacts with customers and other stakeholders and provides input to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables. 

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related scientific discipline plus 8 to 10 years of directly related experience or a Master¿s degree and 6 years of experience. Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years applicable work experience.

Must have a firm understanding of the systems engineering processes involved in full lifecycle software development; Agile-scrum experience is desired.

At least five years specific experience in system or software engineering on SE Core confederate programs (e.g., CCTT, AVCATT, LVC-IA, OneSAF, JLCCTC) is desired

At least 3 years' experience with development and integration of visual databases is desired.

Experience with constructive, virtual or gaming simulation systems is desired.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
     
DOORS use for requirements activities is desired

Discipline to work in a CMMI Level III development environment

Ability to communicate highly complex software concepts effectively.

Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Effective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Must be US citizen; no dual citizenship allowed.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance; active SECRET security clearance is preferred.
