Job Description



The Alion Electronic Warfare (EW) team in Dayton Ohio is seeking an experienced EW/Radar engineer to lead USAF Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) programs.  Emphasis will be placed on EW systems, cyber capability integration, sensors, weapons integration and associated developmental planning.

This position will lead acquisition and technical teams in systems engineering and technical analyses for assigned program activities. 
Will also ensure consistent interpretation and application of policy and guidance to meet system requirements.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Leading contractor research team for AEA Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) deliverables.
- Ensuring compliance with OSS&E and life cycle systems engineering requirements
- Maintaining close technical coordination with government laboratories, program offices and their suppliers in all areas of subsystem design, development, integration and test
- Evaluation of complex system designs and architectures
- Researching Open System Architecture opportunities across EW systems


- The Electronic Warfare/Radar Engineer-Principal position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 15 years total experience, and six years of management experience or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations.   A minimum of five years of experience in EW system development with a major developer is highly desired.

- Broad-based experience related to USAF EW system capability development, modernization, and life-cycle management is of particular interest. EW and cyber convergence experience highly desired.

- Position also requires in-depth knowledge of the development, acquisition and sustainment of USAF aircraft weapon systems.  This includes a working knowledge of DoD Acquisition and JCIDS requirements processes as they apply to EW, ISR, radar, and related sensors/avionics.
- Familiarity with the USAF Strategic Master Plan as it applies to USAF Core Function Support Plans and Flight Plans is a plus. Accordingly, the candidate must have experience working with program development teams and diverse weapon system integration tasks related to USAF requirements and acquisition programs.

- Our team seeks individuals with specific experience and knowledge in electronic attack capability development which includes receiver and transmitter subsystems, AESA radars, countermeasure techniques, cyber enhanced capabilities, Mission Data File structures/applications, and on/off board data correlation, fusion with data link for enhanced situation awareness. Knowledge of commercial trends in Open System Architecture applications is highly desired. An understanding of threat modeling and simulation is also desired.

- Candidates must also possess excellent written/verbal communications skills, presentation skills, organizational time management skills; team building skills, and display a strong professional presence.

- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to be cleared to Special Compartmental Information.
