Responsibilities/Qualification

Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development.

Advises program managers on challenging technical issues, coordinates the use of senior technical resources across the organization on multi-disciplinary problems, and provides technical guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and other technical staff.

Performs complex and advanced engineering work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research for one or more programs.

Serves as program technical team lead.  Prioritizes technical issues, plans technical approach, and works with program managers to develop schedules and staffing plans to support program delivery milestones. 

Develops and provides final technical review of major technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.
 
Conducts independent technical investigations and provides impact assessments and design recommendations to clients.  Provides assurance that technical projects are performed in a technically proficient manner and ensures conclusions and recommendations are supported by the analyses presented.

Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties. 
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Expert knowledge of advanced engineering principles, methods, and techniques in more than one area of expertise.
Expert knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
Excellent customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility on day 1 of employment.

Master's Degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 10-12 years relevant work experience, with 3 years (recent) of space operations domain expertise.
