As the organizational expert in the systems engineering field, develops, operates and maintains a variety of highly complex technology systems. Participates in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system.
Job Duties:
- Work directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development.
- Advise program managers on challenging technical issues, coordinates the use of senior technical resources across the organization on multi-disciplinary problems, and provides technical guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and other technical staff.
- Perform complex and advanced engineering work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research for one or more programs.
- Serve as program technical team lead. Prioritizes technical issues, plans technical approach, and works with program managers to develop schedules and staffing plans to support program delivery milestones.
- Develop and provide final technical review of major technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.
- Conduct independent technical investigations and provides impact assessments and design recommendations to clients.
- Provides assurance that technical projects are performed in a technically proficient manner and ensures conclusions and recommendations are supported by the analyses presented.
- Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Expert knowledge of advanced engineering principles, methods, and techniques in more than one area of expertise.
- Expert knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 10-12 years relevant work experience, with 3 years (recent) of space operations domain expertise.
- In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
