Alion’s expertise in wireless communication is unrivaled.  This includes 50+ years’ of experience performing complex RF Engineering analysis for DoD customers, civilian government agencies, and commercial companies worldwide.  Our expertise in collecting, analyzing, and formatting spectrum data, including RF measurement, frequency assignment, spectrum certification, LiDAR, and other geo-referenced data, enables us to produce refined RF modeling and simulation tools and applications with the reliability and precision needed to assure spectrum access and control.  Alion’s analysis-driven tools support diverse tasks such as spectrum forensics and deconfliction, testing for coverage amid urban clutter, and antenna site planning.  Alion's Radio Frequency and Electromagnetic Spectrum Engineering Directorate (RESED) offers a variety of work, from projects supporting international satellite coordination to countering IEDs.  Our work is increasingly important in a world that depends on well-coordinated, interference-free spectrum access.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under immediate supervision, writes and edits technical documents, including deliverables, manuals, reports, specifications and procedures in conformance with the Alion writing and documentation review process.

Reviews sources of technical information and modifies technical documents to incorporate information.

Edits documentation for style, clarity, consistency, and adherence to company guidelines.

Edits and proofreads technical documents and data.

Interacts with authors, other Technical Editor-Writers, word processing, graphics, and reproduction staff in the preparation and production of documents.

Participates in coordinating production efforts.

Provides feedback on draft documents and attends documentation reviews.

Checks classified documentation for proper security markings.

Participates in coordinating production of the final documentation (print to CD-ROM) with the authors and publication staff.

Qualifications

Advanced proficiency in the English language.

Familiar with appropriate style guidelines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Creative Writing or related field with 0 - 2 years experience.

US Citizenship is required

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
