Job Description

Alion Science and Technology is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Training Specialist for their Advanced Modeling and Simulation Technical Operation. This person would be responsible for setting the organization up for success through the establishment and maintenance of training courses to support business objectives, career growth initiatives, and government requirements. Under the direction of the Training and Development Lead, this person would be responsible for:

• Developing or sourcing training programs to meet specific training needs (e-learnings, PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, videos etc.)
• Facilitating learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching
• Designing and applying assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
• Coordinating the delivery of training in a timely manner
• Delivering organizational and divisional training where applicable
• Maintaining an organizational training portfolio and LMS
• Assessing training needs for new and existing employees
• Tracking the need and status of completed training
• Providing a wide range of technical, career, and leadership training opportunities to the workforce

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience in instructional design (videos, e-learnings, PPT presentations, Facilitator Guides, workbooks etc.)
• Experience delivering/facilitating training
• Knowledge of training methodologies, learning management systems, and competency assessments
• Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
• Ability to work both in a team and individually
• Great communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering training in a virtual setting
• Training certifications from Association for Talent Development or Training Industry, Inc. such as Certified Professional in Training and Development (CPTD)/Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM)

Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; current Secret clearance preferred.
