Job Description



Position Summary

  • Develops and implements policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure effective and economical support for manufacturing or servicing of products, equipment, and systems. Includes the gathering and analysis of information on complex product plans and project objectives, providing tracking and status reports, and support for ensuring distribution and delivery commitments.


  • Analyzes complex contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports to determine requirements.
  • Develops logistics plans for facilities, personnel, equipment, spares and maintenance. Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Assesses and recommends the feasibility of proposed approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Prepares and presents reports, studies, cost analyses, and briefings to staff and customers as needed.
  • Participates in technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the customer.
  • Researches logistics technology advances and applies appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.
  • Monitor the Common Problem Reporting System (CPRS), Identify Discrepancies and Recommended Corrections
  • Update, collate, assemble, and deliver program documentation.
  • Verify configuration, condition, quantity and location of materials and supplies in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Database.    
  • Familiarity with Demilitarization (DEMIL) processes of DoDM 4160.28 and related areas including Trade Security Controls (TSC) desired.
  • Participates in writing sections of proposals calling for logistics expertise.
  • Will be part of a team of contractors providing torpedo and UUV program technical support at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport, RI.
  • Identifies and resolves complex logistics issues.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced Logistics Analysts.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.




Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline plus at least 5 years of directly related experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of torpedo and UUV systems desired.
  • Familiarity with Demilitarization (DEMIL) processes of DoDM 4160.28 and related areas including Trade Security Controls (TSC) desired.
  • A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
